Antonio Garés - Tenore - W Print

Antonio Garés was born in 1988 in Córdoba (Spain). He began his musical training at the age of 6. In 2013 he graduated in classical guitar from the "Rafael Orozco" Conservatory of Music in Córdoba. He began studying singing in 2013 under the guidance of tenor Juan Luque Carmona, and then continued her studies with Professor Donatella Debolini at the "Luigi Cherubini" Conservatory of Music in Florence. In 2017 he won the "Best Tenor" award at the Carlo Guasco International Competition in Alessandria, in 2018 he was a finalist at the Andrea Chénier" Competition in Foggia. Selected for the Rossini Opera Academy in Lunenburg (Canada) directed by Alberto Zedda in 2015 he debuts the role of Dormont in La Scala di Seta by G.Rossini. He was also selected by Ernesto Palacio as a full pupil in the 2018 Accademia Rossiniana "Alberto Zedda" in Pesaro. Since 2020, a pupil of the Accademia del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Florence. In May 2015 he made his debut in the Zarzuela "el Duo de la Africana" in the Gran Teatro of Córdoba. He starre as Ramiro in La Cenerentola by Gioachino Rossini at the Teatro Comunale Pavarotti in Modena; he was selected by M° Claudio Desderi for the role of Don Basilio/Don Curzio in Le nozze di Figaro at the Teatro A.Bonci in Cesena and at the Teatro D.Fabbri in Forlì. Important engagemnts followed: German Tenor in Le convenienze ed inconvenienze teatrali by Gaetano Donizetti at Teatro Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Florence; Lo Frate 'nnamorato(Carlo) by G.B.Pergolesi and Così fan tutte (Ferrando) by W.A.Mozart for the Guardiagrele Opera Festival, Le vent du soir(Arthur) by J. Offenbach at the Teatro Goldoni in Florence; Gastone in La Traviata by G. Verdi at Teatro Verdi di Busseto in the frame of the Festival Verdi in Parma; Count Almaviva Il Barbiere di Siviglia and Don Ramiro La Cenerentola, in the production for schools for the Teatro Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, he played the Marchese in Le metamorfosi di Pasquale by G.Spontini in the Teatro Pergolesi di Jesi, making the first recording of this opera (Dynamic). In 2019 he performed Le Remendado in Carmen by G.Bizet; Il Tinca and Gherardo in Trittico by G.Puccini and Borsa in Rigoletto by G.Verdi at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. In January 2019 he made his debut as Don Ottavio in W.A.Mozart's Don Giovanni at the Pretoria Theatre (South Africa), Rodrigo in La Donna del Lago by G.Rossini in April 2019 at the National Theatre in Zagreb (Croatia) and at the Hessisches Staatstheater in Wiesbaden (Germany).
He has also covered the role Fra Diavolo in D.Auber's opera Fra Diavolo at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in 2016; and in 2019 the cover for the role Dormont in La Scala di Seta in the Royal Opera House in Muscat.In 2020 he participates at the Rossini Opera Festival as Don Luigino in Il viaggio a Reims and as soloist in Messa di Milano and Miserere; he partecipated in La Traviata and Un ballo in maschera at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Florence directed by Maestro Carlo Rizzi. In September 2020 he debuts the role of Conte Almaviva Il barbiere di Siviglia at the Hessisches Staatstheater in Wiesbaden in the full version. Antonio Garés In 2021 he returns to the stage of the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino as the intendente del Feudo in Linda de Chamounix by G.Donizetti, Matteo Borsa in Rigoletto by G.Verdi, Poisson in Adriana Lecouvreur by F. Cilea; Ivan in Siberia by U. Giordano and Bardolfo in Falstaff by G.Verdi, the latter conducted by Sir John Eliot Gardiner. In August 2021 he was again Conte di Almaviva in Barbiere di Siviglia by G.Rossini at the Festival Solo Belcanto in Montisi.

He is also active on the concert side, performing the Requiem by W.A.Mozart, Te deum by Z.Kodaly, Petite messe solennelle by G.Rossini conducted by Alberto Zedda, Carmina Burana by C.Orff. He will soon be Don Curzio in Le nozze di Figaro conducted by Zubin Mehta at the Teatro della Pergola in Florence, and Tanzmeister in Ariadne auf Naxos by R.Strauss at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. He returns to the Rossini Opera Festival 2022 as Doge in G.Rossini's Otello and he will make his debut at the Teatro Filarmonico in Verona partecipating in Puccini's La Bohème.
