Anne Blancard was born in Montpellier (France). She studied acting under Georges Le Roy, Jean-Marie Serreau and Jean Vilar at the École Charles Dullin. As an actress she has appeared in various theatre productions. As a journalist, Anne Blancard has been involved in the preparation and production of cultural programmes on Conarky (Guinea) radio. She has released and presented political and cultural magazines for Deutsche Welle and also for the International Radio France.
Since 1987 Blancard has worked as a dramatist with the stage director Yannis Kokkos on almost of his productions at the world’s great theatres including La Scala, Covent Garden, Théâtre du Châtelet, Opéra de Paris.
