Alberto Robert began his musical studies in the monumental choir of
Celaya under the direction of Jesús Humberto Palato in 2008. He is the
winner of important awards: first prize in the first Opera Competition at
the Conservatory of Music and Arts of Celaya; second prize in the V Linus
Lerner International Opera Competition; the "Encouragement awards" at the
MONC Metropolitan Opera National Council, as well as second prize at the
XIV contest Ópera de San Miguel. He is one of the first three young
singers to receive a scholarship from the Spanish foundation Fundación
Ópera Actual.
He was a member of the Atelier for young singers at the MOS México Opera
Studio in Monterrey, where he had the opportunity to make his opera debut
as Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni, in addition to participating in the
Anniversary of the Teatro Bicentenario in León, Guanajuato.
In April 2021 he participated in the 54th opera season of Las Palmas de
Gran Canaria, singing Don Ramiro in La Cenerentola and he was selected to
take part in the Accademia Rossiniana Alberto Zedda in Pesaro, where he
debuted the role of Cavalier Belfiore in Il viaggio a Reims.
He is currently part of the Opera Studio of the Stuttgart State Opera,
Germany since 2021, where he performed roles such as Zeremonienmeister in
Prokofiev’s The Love for Three Oranges, Missail / A Boyar in Boris
Godunov, Don Curzio in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro,
Remendado in Carmen, Count Almaviva in Il barbiere di Siviglia,
Don Ramiro in La Cenerentola, Count of Lerma in Don Carlo,
the Glass Maker in Death in Venice, the Hunter in Rusalka.
He took part in a new production of La Fest and also participated
in concerts and recitals, accumulating more than 50 performances at the
StaatsOper in Stuttgart.
Most recently he took part in the production of Francesca Caccini’s La
liberazione di Ruggiero dall’isola di Alcina at the Teatro Canal in
Madrid; Donizetti's Le convenienze e inconvenienze teatrali at
Wexford Festival opera; and La Fanciulla del West at the Teatro
San Carlo in Naples.
Plans include: L’occasione fa il ladro at the Theater an der
Wien; Falstaff at the Opéra de Marseille; Don Pasquale at
the Royal Danish Opera in Copenhagen; and La Fest, La
Cenerentola, and Turandot at the Stuttgart Opera.
