Adriana Di Paola - alto
Winner of Santa Chiara Contest in Naples, she made her debut at the Rossini Opera
Festival in Pesaro (Il viaggio a Reims) and at Festival Dei Due Mondi in
Spoleto (Amelia al Ballo). At the Palau de Les Arts Reina Sofia she performed
Le nozze di Figaro, Ariadne auf Naxos and Rigoletto. Ms. Di
Paola sang in I Vespri Siciliani at the Festival Verdi in Parma, where she
also performed in La Forza del Destino with Gianluigi Gelmetti. She took
part in the Young Singers Project at the Salzburg Festival, where she sang in Die
Zauberflöte, Carmen and Giulio Cesare. Ms. Di Paola starred
as Zita in Gianni Schicchi with the Accademia Santa Cecilia in Rome, where
she returned to sing Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle led from the piano
by Antonio Pappano, who chose her also for a special event around Brahms and later
for Beethoven’s 9th Symphony. She then performed: Ariadne auf Naxos
at the Glyndebourne Festival, Vladimir Jurowski conducting; Handel’s Giulio Cesare
(Cornelia) in Klagenfurt; Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater in Monte-Carlo and
in Saarbrücken; Verdi’s I vespri siciliani in Madrid; Mozart’s Requiem
in Naples; Dido and Aeneas in Florence under Stefano Montanari; L’Incoronazione
di Poppea (Bob Wilson directing and Rinaldo Alessandrini conducting) at
Teatro alla Scala in Milan; Rota’s Misteryum and Die Zauberflöte at
the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari; La Cenerentola (Tisbe) at the Reate Festival
in Rieti and in Bremen with Europa Galante and Fabio Biondi; Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater
in Geneva; Handel’s Silla (Claudio) in Valencia with Fabio Biondi; series
of baroque concerts in Naples and Tuscany . She also took part in the Accademia
Monteverdiana under John Eliot Gardiner.
Future plans: revival of L’Incoronazione di Poppea at the Teatro alla
Scala in Milan; Dido and Aeneas (Sorceress) at Filarmonico in Verona; Pergolesi’s
Stabat Mater again with Geneva Camerata in Geneva.
